Apple Crisp

A delicious serving of apple crisp hot out of the oven and with a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top is as comforting as it gets.

Ingredients

  • pomme Cortland
  • Sirop d'érable
  • Farine
  • Flocons d'avoine
  • Cassonade

Also needed

  • 180 ml (3/4 cup) melted butter
  • 2.5 ml (½ tsp) cinnamon

Preparation

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
  2. Peel the apples and cut them into equal quarters.
  3. In a frying pan, heat 15 ml (1 tbsp) butter over medium heat. Add the apples and cook for 3-4 minutes.
  4. Add the maple syrup and cook for 2-3 minutes.
  5. Transfer the apple mix to a 33 cm x 23 cm (13 in. x 9 in.) baking dish.
  6. In another bowl, mix the flour, oats, brown sugar, cinnamon and remaining butter. Distribute it onto the apples.
  7. Bake for 30 to 40 minutes, until the top is golden-brown and crispy.
