Crispy Orange Beef

Also needed
- 80 ml (⅓ cup) cornstarch
- 45 ml (3 tbsp) canola oil
Optional
- 2 green onions, chopped
- 30 ml (2 tbsp) orange zest
Preparation
- Blanch the broccoli for 2 minutes in a pot of boiling salted water. Drain and rinse with cold water.
- Chop the onion and cut the bell peppers into cubes.
- Slice the steaks into strips, about 0.5 cm (¼ in) thick. Coat the beef strips with cornstarch.
- Heat the oil in a frying pan or wok over medium-high heat. Cook the beef strips for 1 to 2 minutes on each side, until they are golden-brown and crispy. Set aside on a plate. Remove excess oil from the pan.
- Add the onion and peppers to the same pan and cook for 2 minutes.
- Add the broccoli and continue cooking for 1 minute.
- Pour in the orange sauce and bring to a boil. Remove from heat and add the beef. Divide onto plates immediately.
- Sprinkle with green onion and orange zest, if desired, before serving.
